Garment System vs Tapstitch
Last updated: September 23, 2026
This is the closest comparison on this site, because the blanks overlap. Tapstitch and Garment System both build on heavyweight oversized tees, boxy hoodies, crewnecks, and washed styles rather than the thin promotional garments most print services stock. The difference is the model. Tapstitch is print on demand: each garment is printed and shipped as the order comes in, which keeps it to the methods that work one unit at a time. Garment System is a production partner: you design in our studio with live pricing, we produce the run through the partner factories we have worked with for years, with screen print, DTF, DTG, or embroidery and your own label sewn in, and a techpack and pre-production photos are part of the order. Runs start at 10 units per design and samples at a single piece. This page is a side-by-side reference so you can pick the model that fits the project.
When Garment System fits
You are producing a run: 10 units and up, screen print or embroidery on a heavyweight blank, your own label sewn in, a techpack and photo proof before production, and a per-unit price that drops as the run grows. Start with a one-piece sample if you want to feel the blank first.
When Tapstitch fits
You do not want to hold stock: designs printed one order at a time from your storefront, no minimums, and fast domestic delivery for US customers. You pay more per garment for that flexibility.

We will not pretend the garments are worlds apart. Tapstitch built its catalogue on the same kind of premium blanks we do, its DTG and DTF work is good, and it offers all-over print and storefront integration, which we do not. If you are still testing what sells and want nothing in inventory, print on demand is the right call and we would tell you so. Our side starts the moment you know what you are producing: a run of 10 or more costs less per garment at every tier, opens screen print, puff, and cut-and-sew options that cannot be done one unit at a time, ships with your label instead of ours, and is checked with a techpack and production photos before it leaves. That is what we are built for.
The styles overlap. Both catalogues centre on heavyweight oversized tees, boxy hoodies, crewnecks, and washed pieces rather than thin promotional garments, so the blank you have in mind may exist on both sides. Tapstitch carries a much wider catalogue; ours is a focused set we produce through the same partner factories that run your order, so the blank you sample is the blank you get in bulk.
At volume, yes. Tapstitch prices per item because each garment is produced when it is ordered. Our pricing is tiered by quantity: 10 to 14 units at the base price, then stepping down at 15, 25, 50, 100, 200, and 400+ units, up to 28% off at the top tier. Every option is priced live in the studio, so you see the exact per-unit number before you commit. For a handful of units, on-demand pricing is usually the cheaper way in.
No. There is no per-order dropshipping, no storefront integration, and no US warehouse today. We produce your run, usually 5 to 7 days in production, and ship it to you by express air in 5 to 14 business days, or by sea for larger orders. If you need orders routed to end customers one at a time, or fast domestic US delivery on single orders, an on-demand platform like Tapstitch is the right fit for that part of the business.
Screen printing is the headline one: it needs a screen burned per colour, so it only makes sense across a run, and it is what gives solid graphics their flat, durable, soft hand-feel. On the storefront you pick screen print, DTF, DTG, or embroidery per placement, with availability varying by blank. Puff print, sublimation, patch embroidery, and panelled colour-blocking are quoted on request, and new silhouettes, fabrics, and trims run through our cut-and-sew programs.
Woven, tagless, or size-chip-only neck labels uploaded in the same studio as your prints, so the garment ships as a true private-label product with no third-party branding. A techpack for every run, one-piece samples and curated sample packs, a pre-production sample with photos on runs of 25 or more, the same trusted partner factories on every reorder, and our Montreal team as your point of contact. Production is handled by long-term partner factories in China, with QC and finishing managed by our team.
